Know Me
Hi, I’m John, a Texas-based photographer who enjoys capturing meaningful moments and creating photos that feel natural and personal.
Photography gives me a way to capture the small details, emotions, and connections that make each moment special. Whether I am photographing people, places, events, or everyday scenes, I focus on capturing images that feel natural, meaningful, and personal.
I enjoy working with people, sharing ideas, and finding an approach that fits each session. Every project gives me a chance to learn, improve, and create work that feels meaningful.
My goal is to make each session comfortable and provide photos that leave a lasting impression.
Best regards,
John Fernando

How It All Started
While earning my degree as a full-time college student, I worked weekends to help pay for school and cover everyday expenses. As college became more demanding, I wanted to find a way to earn extra income while also building skills I genuinely enjoyed using.
Instead of taking on another traditional job, I focused on work that interested me. I began offering photography services, creating Wix websites for clients, and writing about photography, website tips, fitness, travel, and other personal interests. What started as a way to earn extra income gradually became something I wanted to continue growing.
Balancing school, work, and client projects was not always easy, but it taught me the value of consistency, problem solving, and building something of my own. Over time, I decided to step away from web design and focus solely on photography. Today, I work with individuals, personal brands, and small businesses, providing portraits, professional headshots, personal branding sessions, small-event coverage, and business content.

BUILDING
MY WEBSITE
I started building this website after deciding to take my photography and Wix web design work more seriously. At first, it was a simple way to share my work, but over time it became a place where I could bring together my portfolio, services, blog, and other projects.
Building the website has been an ongoing learning experience. I have spent a lot of time experimenting with layouts, improving the user experience, and organizing the content so it is clear and easy to navigate. My previous experience creating Wix websites for clients also helped me better understand how people interact with a website and what information they look for.
Although I no longer offer web design services, I continue to update this website as my photography grows. Each change reflects something I have learned or improved, and my goal is to create a website that represents my work honestly while providing a simple and enjoyable experience for visitors.

As of March 2025
HOW IT WAS MADE
I built my first website using the Wix Editor as a way to bring my photography, blog, and other interests together in one place. While the editor was straightforward to learn, the main challenge was creating a website that felt organized, easy to navigate, and represented my work the way I wanted. I spent a lot of time experimenting with layouts, refining the content, and making small improvements until everything started to come together.
As I gained more experience, I wanted greater flexibility and more control over the design. This led me to rebuild the website in Wix Studio. The transition gave me an opportunity to rethink the layout, improve the navigation, and create a more polished experience for visitors. It took time, but it also helped me better understand website design and how people interact with online content.
Although I no longer offer web design services, I still enjoy learning about website platforms and improving my own site. I have also explored Squarespace, Wordpress, and Webflow to understand how different platforms approach website design. What I learn helps me continue improving this website as my photography and blog grow.
The Push I Didn'T Know I Needed
Photography had always been an interest of mine, but deciding to pursue it more seriously was another story. Bernie, wearing a white shirt, and Matthew, wearing a black shirt, were the two people who encouraged me to take that first step. Without their support, I probably would have spent much longer wondering whether I should give it a try.
Bernie was always encouraging me to get started, often saying, “Go buy your camera already. Let’s go shoot together.” Matthew inspired me in a different way. Seeing his work and hearing about his experiences made photography feel more approachable and motivated me to learn more.
Looking back, I am grateful to both of them for giving me the confidence to get started. Their encouragement helped turn an interest into something I now take seriously and continue to enjoy.

INTRODUCING
daisy🌼
This is my ride-or-die, Daisy, who completely stole my heart. I adopted her on July 29, 2023, when she was just 4 months old. At the shelter, she went by the name Azula, but the moment I met her, I knew she needed a name that felt more like home. That is when Daisy became her name, and she has been filling my days with joy ever since.
Daisy is a beautiful mix of Retriever, Labrador, and Great Pyrenees, and she carries the best traits of all three. She was born on March 18, 2023, and has this gentle, loving spirit with a playful side that always keeps me on my toes.
Her personality is so sweet, but she demands a lot of attention, which is just how I like it. Whether she is running around the yard or curled up next to me, Daisy is the best companion anyone could ask for. I am beyond grateful that she chose me that day at the shelter. She is truly a gift.
